Under administrative direction, assist the Readiness, Education and Outreach Bureau (R.E.O.) with various emergency management related tasks. These tasks may include assisting with preparing plans, organizing files, coordinating meeting materials, and tasks related to grant administration. Interns would also be assisting with emergency preparedness training and exercises for both the public and city employees. Additionally, interns may be tasked with developing marketing materials related to emergency preparedness using multiple sources. Emergency Management Interns will be responsible for the maintenance of the City’s Emergency Operations Center and assisting with community outreach and other R.E.O. programs as needed.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in college level coursework. All eligible participants must submit an application, pass an oral interview and complete a thorough background investigation prior to the start of the program. Applicants must be available to work flexible hours.
